It’s Getting Worse

The video game industry is in a weird place right now. It seems like no matter where you look, things are overwhelmingly negative. And that’s whether you’re a fan of Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, or a PC gamer.

There’s a clear negative sentiment toward the industry as a whole from long-time players – what I would call traditional, hardcore gamers.

Now sure, this has been the norm for a while when it comes to online keyboard warriors, especially on social media and especially within the gaming industry. But I don’t know – things definitely feel like they’ve ramped up over the past year or so.

And at least some of this anger – is for good reasons.

The industry is rapidly changing before our eyes – and I think many of us would say, it’s not changing in a positive way.
