Nintendo Switch 2 Review vs OLED | One Month Later…
Reviewing the Nintendo Switch 2 one month later, plus comparison vs the original OLED gaming console for battery life, performance, display tech and more. I’ve been testing this portable gamer for a few weeks and yep, the Nintendo Switch 2 is a big upgrade in some departments. But it’s also more expensive and not as well suited to travel, compared with the cheaper Switch OLED.
This new version of Nintendo’s handheld gaming console boasts a big boost for gaming on intensive titles like Witcher 3 and Zelda BOTW. The OLED model still offers sharper contrast, deep blacks and poppy hues, even if it does max out at 720p vs 1080p. The Nintendo Switch 2 serves up stronger audio via the redesigned speakers, but Bluetooth needs improvement!
Other improvements vs the original Switch OLED include some controller tweaks (although mouse mode has serious issues). The Nintendo Switch 2 also offers a small number of exclusive games, including the Gamecube emulator (easily my favourite). But if you’re not bothered about those first party titles, the OLED will suit you just fine.
Have you been playing with the Nintendo Switch 2? Let us know what you think and if it’s a worthy upgrade vs the OLED model!
