Something Feels Weird About Nintendo Switch 2

After the massive Switch 2 leaks this week, I started thinking about the timeline for Nintendo’s next generation… and I keep coming back to one big question — when does the Switch 2 generation actually start?

The leaked lineup includes some great games, remakes, and third-party titles, but I’m still not sure we’ve seen the game that truly defines Switch 2 yet. On top of that, the long gap without a General Nintendo Direct is very unusual, especially at the start of a new console generation.

In this video, I talk about Nintendo’s possible Switch 2 strategy, the timeline for major franchises like Mario and Zelda, the rumored Ocarina of Time remake, the Direct schedule, and why Switch 2 might still be waiting for its big moment.

Maybe Nintendo is playing the long game. Maybe the biggest games just aren’t ready yet. But right now, it still feels like we’re waiting for the Switch 2 generation to truly begin.
